Today we installed a Thule Base Rack and Yakima Ski Carrier on a 2015 BMW X1. For the base rack, our customer preferred the look of a flush bar crossbar (bar terminates into foot), apposed to a through bar where the crossbar extends past the foot. So, he decided to go with the Thule AeroBlade Edge system. This fit has a load capacity of 165 lbs for this vehicle. For the ski rack, the sleek aerodynamic styling of the Yakima FatCat 6 was what he was after. The FatCat has universal mounting hardware and has no problems fitting on the Thule AeroBlade Edge bars.
